Opened September 7, 1991.

Affiliated with the All Truth Dragon Gate school of Daoism.

Daoist temples are called guan: lit. watchtower; "full view" or "illumination."

Guan is usually translated as "observe" in Daodejing chap. 1.2

Three halls

Correspond to the cosmic triad of Heaven, Humans, and Earth.

First Hall: Palace of Hu Fa (spiritual or law guardian). Also Bookkeeping and Wealth God are found here.

Second: Palace of the Three Masters of the Dragon Gate School.

Third: Palace of the Three Pure Ones: Jade Emperor, Laozi, and Ling Bao.

DDJ chap. 42 and the Trinity

The Dao (Laozi) produced the One (Jade Emperor). The One is Tai Ji: the Great Ultimate

The One (Jade Emperor) produced the Two

(Ling Bao). The Two is Tian=Heaven.

The Two produced Three (=Earth).

Three is the Cosmic Triad of Heaven, Earth, and humans.

The original trinity: Great One, Great Heaven, and Great Earth (130 BCE).

Correlative thinking

Each hall is built on the numbers three, four five, seven, eight, and nine.

Five guardians in the First Hall.

Three Masters/Pure Ones with two attendant deities with two aids (total of nine). Doumu + Pure Ones is four.

Three Masters/Pure Ones with four attending immortals (total of seven).

Five elements, five colors, five fruit sacrifices; five Jade Emperor icons.

Huangtai Xian has no aids: one with H & E.
