Email Access:
My email address is lizard@astro.ocis.temple.edu. This is one of the easiest ways to contact me, since I usually check it at least once a day. If you've got a problem, can't get to class, whatever, send me an email.

You are encouraged to get an email account if you don't already have one. After all, as a Temple student you've already paid for it. To get an email account, go to the computer center on campus and ask. Please let me know your email address once you have it.

The computer center for Ambler is in the Library Building, Room 29. Their hours are: M-Th., 8:30 a.m. - midnight; Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sat., 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sun., noon-8:00 p.m.

To successfully complete the reading assignments, you will need to get on the Internet at least once in the semester. If enough people need instruction in accessing the Internet, I will arrange to do that during class time.

For help with computer or internet questions, contact Temple's Computer Services.

Lateness: Not advisable. We will begin class with journaling which will become very important for your final paper. If you miss the beginning of class, you miss the journal entry. This will only hurt you. If you need extra incentive to get here on t ime, remember three lates = one absence. (We'll talk if it's a case of icy and snowy driving conditions or something, OK.)

Absences: Really not advisable. (I think you'll see why if you read the procedure for assignments. Missing class means missing group work which means not getting feedback on your paper drafts which means trouble. If you've got a family emerg ency, we'll talk. If you are having some problem related or not to school, talk to me. I can't stress this enough. Don't go into denial and don't leave me wondering whatever became of you. If you play fair with me, I'll play fair with you. But if y ou just blow the class off, remember that two absences and you will fail the class participation portion of the class (20%); four absences and you will fail the class entirely.

Late Papers: If you're late getting the drafts of your papers done, it will not only mess up you, but your working group as well. If you've got a bunch of really great friends who are willing to put up with you, fine. But don't count on it. Work ing groups and/or their individual members have the absolute right to refuse to offer revision suggestions on any late draft. No argument. If they choose to respond, it's out of their own generosity and will come back on them threefold. If the final d raft is late to me, it will be docked one full grade for each class period that it is late. Final drafts are due in class on the due date specified.
