The goal of the Insights into Religion portal is to centralize information from a wide range of sites recognized as some of the best sources on the web for religious content. End-users like pastors and religion writers can access the latest religious research, articles and journals and much more from the affiliate sites in a single search, reducing the time required to access the information from a variety of sources. Says Dr. Scott Thumma, Executive Director of the Insights Into Religion portal, “We truly believe that once end-users begin exploring the Portal and see how easy it is to find the content they need they will quickly adopt it as their primary resource on the web.”

Dr. Thumma feels that the Religion Communications Conference is a particularly appropriate venue to launch the portal because it fills a void for religion writers who lack a dependable source for information. “This audience has been underserved online and our portal addresses a very real need. The Religion Communicators Conference is the ideal environment to introduce the Portal to religion writers and give them an opportunity to see first-hand the outstanding search capability we’ve built into the site. I’m extremely confident that they’ll be very pleased when they discover how much faster and easier it now is to find information that will be helpful for their writing projects.”
