This seminar course is intended for those pursuing the academic study of religion at an advanced level. It is the first, more textually-oriented, half of a year-long exploration of method and theory. We will examine the rise and development of Religious Studies as an academic enterprise, focusing on a wide range of university academics who are currently shaping the field in Canada.
