AAR & SBL Session

Celebrating the Scholarship of Teaching

P23-301
Saturday, November 23 – 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM
Convention Center-22 (Upper Level East)

Join authors published in the inaugural issue of the Wabash Center’s peer-reviewed, open-access, digital journal, The Wabash Center Journal on Teaching, for a roundtable discussion of emergent issues facing the teaching of religion and theology in the academy today – and the place of the scholarship of teaching in this context. Panelists will each make brief (5 minute) opening remarks describing what they see as among the most pressing challenges, and then the moderator will quickly conduct conversation around the table and eventually from the audience as well.

Panelists:
Maryellen Weimer, editor of The Teaching Professor
Frank Yamada, Executive Director of Association of Theological Schools
Joanne Maguire, University of North Carolina, Charlotte
Kathleen Fisher, Assumption College
John Van Maaren, McMaster University
Thomas Pearson, editor of The Wabash Center Journal on Teaching
