What are the eligibility requirements?
Eligibility requirements vary depending on the specific workshop or colloquy. See the description of the specific program for details. The Wabash Center welcomes participation from any of the various subdisciplines of the field of religious studies and theology: biblical studies, theology, historical studies, practical theology, comparative religion, area or cultural studies, ethics, etc. However, most of our programs are limited to faculty with full time appointments in either an accredited seminary/theological school, or an accredited college or university religion or religious studies department. (There may be exceptions in cases where the college or university does not have a religious studies or religion department.) Eligibility for a Pre-Tenure Workshop is restricted to faculty who will not learn their final decision regarding tenure until after the ending date of the final Workshop meeting.

My experience at Wabash as a junior professor from an ethnic group was very affirming and taught me the “ropes: of being a professor in theological education. I have continued to use the information to orient others and to guide my continued journey.

The hospitality and warm-spirited stimulation of my Wabash Weeks salved my soul as well as piquing my mind. Our small group tuned in to my specific teaching project goal, and gave me ideas and encouragements I'm still using. My Wabash experience, and my connection with our group, continues to feed and enliven my teaching--and my self. I'm so grateful!!
